About the site
What is this?
Feoren's personal website. Something is being built here; until then, there is a beach to linger on.
Do the characters on the beach belong to you?
No. Many characters and scenes are homages to films, series, comics, games and books I love. I drew everything myself as pixel art. The site is private and non-commercial; nothing here is for sale. I am not affiliated with the rights holders, and they do not support the site. All names, characters and trademarks belong to their respective owners. If a rights holder would like something changed or removed, a message via the contact form is all it takes, and I will see to it quickly.
Is that a picture?
No. The scene is calculated anew on every visit, pixel by pixel. No two beaches look the same.
Why is it night (or day) for me?
The scene follows your local time and the real phase of the moon. In the morning the sun rises, in the evening the campfire burns.
How do I change the language?
With the little flags on the palm tree on the right. Each one stands for a language.
How do I turn on the sound?
With the radio on the beach. Without a click, everything stays silent. Music: “Morning Sky” by Centurion_of_war (CC0).
Does it really rain here?
Yes, whenever it is raining where your time zone is at home. The beach never asks for your location: it only knows your browser's time zone and uses the weather of its main city, Berlin for Germany. Clouds, rain, fog, snow and wind follow the real weather there and are fetched again about every 15 minutes. Weather data: MET Norway (api.met.no), licence CC BY 4.0.
Are there holidays on the beach?
Yes. What happens then is a surprise.
What does “Discovered” mean?
A counter of the secrets you have already found. It lives only in your browser; at most, the server learns anonymously that something was found, never by whom. Only what you click counts: click on what you see.
Can I see the bay in full screen?
Yes. The button at the top right switches the home page to full screen; Esc or the same button ends it. The iPhone has no such button: add the page via “Share” and “Add to Home Screen”, and it opens without bars.
